Background:  FERC has announced its receipt of an application from Scott’s Mill Hydro, LLC regarding the proposed Scott’s Mill Hydroelectric Project in Amherst and Bedford Counties, Virginia.  The project would involve the construction of the following new facilities at the existing Scott’s Mill Dam on the James River: (1) a new powerhouse containing four generating units with a total installed capacity of 4.5 megawatts; (2) a new 1,200-foot-long underground transmission line; and (3) appurtenant facilities.
