NABTU STATEMENT ON FIRST WORKFORCE POLICY ADVISORY BOARD MEETING

Washington, DC – March 6, 2019 – Today, North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) issued the following statement from President Sean McGarvey after the first meeting of the National Workforce Policy Board:

“It was an honor to represent NABTU at the first Workforce Policy Advisory Board meeting today at the White House. Our world-class workforce development model creates career pathways and lifelong skills that provide family-sustaining wages and benefits, and we welcome the opportunity to share our perspective. We know that a robust labor-management commitment to and private investment in skills training are vital to ensuring workers of all backgrounds – including veterans, women and minority communities – can meet the demands of all of the competitive industries represented in today’s meeting.
