“Today, North America’s Building Trades Unions and our 3 million members salute the amazing military veterans of the United States and Canada and their families. These heroes – both women and men – have made great sacrifices in their service to promote and defend the freedom, liberty, and democracy that we hold dear.

“It is imperative that each of us honor them not just today, but every day by offering support when they serve and in every way possible upon their return home. This includes keeping our promise to ensure a smooth transition back into civilian life with an established pathway to a quality, family-sustaining career like our Helmets to Hardhats program provides. All of us in the building trades value and respect our veterans to the highest degree, and we will continue to keep our promise to them like they kept their promise to us.”
