NABTU HONORS MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY

Washington, D.C. – January 17, 2022 – North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) President Sean McGarvey issued the following statement in recognition of Martin Luther King Day:

“Today, North America’s Building Trades Unions proudly honors the life and legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As a devoted supporter of the labor movement, Dr. King relentlessly advocated for civil rights and voting rights, while also speaking out on the need for economic justice and opportunity for all.

“His leadership and vision in a time of great uncertainty inspire us every day in our efforts to build ladders to the middle class for people in all communities, especially women, people of color, veterans, and the formerly incarcerated. Dr. King’s mission lives on to this day, and we humbly join the rest of the world in recognizing his accomplishments and carrying on the good fight for generations to come.”
