NABTU Expresses Concerns Over Congressional Tax Bill Efforts
In a November 15, 2017 letter to members of both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, NABTU President Sean McGarvey expressed a desire “to share our concerns with specific proposals included within the House and Senate tax reform bills that may have negative implications on future infrastructure investment and could have devastating impacts on the family budgets of hard working construction workers.”
Specifically, NABTU outlined its concerns with changes to the tax treatment of Private Activity Bonds, which are critical to infrastructure financing, as well as potential changes to the Rehabilitation Credit and the State and Local Tax Deduction, and the treatment of Tax-Exempt Bonds for Stadium Construction.
