Overview

NABTU continued its nationwide Opportunity Pipeline tour with an event in Madison, Wisconsin, at SMART Local 18.

The trip kicked off with a career fair, drawing in a crowd of over a thousand high school students, organizations, and experts to highlight opportunities within the building trades. NABTU then went to Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 18 for a tour of their state-of-the-art training facility and heard from apprentices and elected leaders about the importance of the building trades careers to strengthening America’s middle class. Special thanks to the Building Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin, the Wisconsin State Building Trades Council, IBEW Local 159, and SMART Local 18 for all of their hard work.

WE15 WMTV – Government, community and industry partners promoted construction career opportunities to students at a career fair in Madison Wednesday. It’s a multi-city tour to help inform America’s next infrastructure generation. The Careers in Construction fair features over a thousand high school students, organizations and experts to highlight the building trades’ opportunities for young people in south central Wisconsin.

WKOW – A national tour brought members of North America’s Building Trades Unions to Madison Wednesday. The labor organization is trying to promote career opportunities in the construction industry. The tour included a stop at a career fair put on by the Building Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin.
