The Government Affairs Department of NABTU advocates for policies that benefit the construction industry, particularly the workers and the industries that employ them.  We also fight against policies that negatively impact the safety, job-security, and economic prospects of American workers. The Government Affairs Department, in conjunction with the government affairs staff of NABTU and its affiliates, works with Congress and the Administration to ensure economic growth and development that lead to job opportunities for building trades members across the country, and which are coupled with stringent health and safety standards, as well as protections for established community wage and benefit standards that have accrued over the last century.
