NABTU HONORS INTERNATIONAL WORKERS’ MEMORIAL DAY

Washington, D.C. – April 28, 2022 – Today, North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) President Sean McGarvey issued the following statement in recognition of International Workers’ Memorial Day 2022:

“Today, NABTU joins the entire working world in mourning those who lost their lives on the job, as well as the millions that passed due to COVID-19. Each year, International Workers’ Memorial Day serves as a solemn remembrance of the dedicated workers who did not make it home at the end of their shift. It is our mission to continue to create safe workplaces for everybody while uplifting the entire construction industry.

“With the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law signed last November, we look forward to seeing the promised labor protections and standards fully implemented on job sites across America. While NABTU, along with our partner contractors, continues to invest in new, innovative strategies to ensure the safety of our members, we will not stop our constant pursuit of our main goal: bringing every member home safely to their family after their day on the job is done.”
