North America’s Building Trades Unions Celebrates the Launch of Crane Clean Energy Center

Washington, D.C. – September 20, 2024 – North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) President Sean McGarvey issued the following statement:

“North America’s Building Trades Unions is excited to support the historic decision by Constellation Energy to restart Unit 1 of Three Mile Island. This announcement is a critical step for Pennsylvania’s economy and the future of the U.S. nuclear industry. This project exemplifies how clean energy investments drive economic growth while creating family-sustaining union jobs. We are thrilled to see Constellation provide Pennsylvanians yet another pathway for reliable, union employment opportunities for skilled workers, fueling the thriving Infrastructure Generation.

“As we embrace this opportunity to expand clean energy infrastructure, NABTU looks forward to collaborating with Constellation to ensure that the workforce building and maintaining this critical facility reflects the gold standards of NABTU’s workplace safety and expertise.

“This project not only strengthens Pennsylvania’s role as an energy powerhouse, but also sends a message that investing in clean, union jobs creates pathways for a stronger future for American workers.”
