NABTU STATEMENT RECOGNIZING JUNETEENTH 2025
Washington, D.C. – June 19, 2025 – Today, North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) President Sean McGarvey issued the following statement:
“Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States and stands as a powerful reminder of Black Americans’ enduring strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions to our nation. It is a day to reflect on our nation’s history and a call to action to continue advancing justice, equity, and inclusion.
“At NABTU, we honor Juneteenth not only through remembrance, but by advancing opportunity, dignity, and respect for all workers on every jobsite and in every community. America is strongest when it opens its doors wider, breaks down barriers, and lifts up every voice. On this day and every day, we reaffirm our commitment to building a fairer, more just future for all.”
