Washington, D.C. – March 8, 2022 – North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) President Sean McGarvey issued the following statement supporting the U.S. ban of Russian energy imports:

“Today, President Biden took a strong step forward to condemn the unjustified and heinous acts of aggression against the people of Ukraine. We applaud the Administration for banning the import of Russian oil, natural gas, and coal to our country. The over 3 million highly-skilled craftspeople of North America’s Building Trades Unions remain ready, willing, and able to support the President, and our fellow Americans, as we strive for peace abroad, while working to diminish our reliance on foreign energy here at home.”
