Washington, D.C. —February 3, 2026 — North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) President Sean McGarvey issued the following statement:

“The Gateway Project is one of the largest construction projects in the United States and is critical not only to building trades members across the greater New York and New Jersey region, but also to the economic health of the entire nation. We urge the courts to act swiftly on the pending action so that funding can flow to this fully permitted and approved project. The consequences of not funding Gateway will have devastating impacts on the livelihoods of building trades workers and their families, as well as the economic stability and long‑term prosperity of the country.”
