NABTU Statement in Recognition of May Day 2020

Washington, DC – May 1, 2020 – North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) President Sean McGarvey issued the following statement in recognition of May Day 2020:

“This May Day presents us with a unique opportunity to reflect on the contributions of the working class and the labor movement locally, nationally, and across the globe. This year, we have been dealt a hand unlike any we have ever witnessed, but like the building trades always do, we’ve stepped up and worked together through adversity. The pride, ambitiousness, and dedication I have seen in workers across the globe in this fight against COVID-19 is truly inspirational.

“On the jobsite, at work, and in our local communities across this great continent, North America’s Building Trades Unions have done whatever it takes to power through this pandemic. We are thrilled that workers across the globe are joining in the solidarity and rallying around one another to fight together and bring our respective nations through this crisis as one. #BuildingTradesWhateverItTakes”
