NABTU Denounces Jobsite Violence Following Missouri Plant Tragedy
Washington, D.C. – December 16, 2025 – Today, North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) President Sean McGarvey issued the following statement:
“On behalf of North America’s Building Trades Unions, our affiliates, and our more than 3 million members, we extend our deepest condolences to the victim and their loved ones following Friday’s horrific jobsite violence in Missouri. Our hearts are with the families and all those affected. There is absolutely no place for violence on job sites or in any workplace, and NABTU condemns it in all forms. Everyone should be able to go to work and return home safely, free from harm.
“As we emphasize through NABTU’s RESPECT initiative, worker safety is non-negotiable and must remain the foundation of our industry. That is why we continue working with owners and contractors to take every possible step to prevent violence before it happens, eliminate intimidation, and enforce zero tolerance to protect every tradesperson on every job.”
