Washington, D.C. – November 11, 2019 – Today, North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) issued the following statement from President Sean McGarvey in honor of Veterans Day:

“This Veterans Day, on behalf of North America’s Building Trades Unions and our 3 million members, we salute all military veterans of the United States and Canada and the families who stand by their side including many building trades members.

“We honor the great service and sacrifice of these true national heroes who not only defend our freedom, liberty and democracy here at home, but across the globe. We owe them every opportunity and resource when they come home, including quality middle class careers. That is why, through our Helmets to Hardhats program, NABTU and our signatory contractors ensure veterans are empowered to successfully transition into rewarding careers of the building trades after their service. All of us in the building trades value this commitment, and we’ll continue to do all we can each and every day to support these remarkable men and women.”
