Greg Bernarding began his career as an Iron Worker in 1991. After working 21 years in the field and 11 years in the Union Hall offices, Greg knows what it takes to be successful in this industry. He has been a Union Steward, Foreman and General Foreman on many different types of construction projects. He successfully ran for a position on the Executive Board in 2008. In 2011, he ran for and won the position of Recording Secretary. During that term, he was appointed to the position of Assistant Business Agent-North. For five years, he was responsible for helping the Business Agent secure work for the membership and, in turn, continue to the grow the market share in western PA. He then successfully ran for Vice President in 2014 and President in 2017. During his term as President, Greg was appointed to the office of Business Manager/FST. He ran unopposed and was elected in June 2020 and 2023 as Business Manager/FST. Recently, Greg was elected as the Executive Business Manager of the Pittsburgh Regional Building and Construction Trades Council and currently is serving in that role since January 1, 2024.
Knowing that being aware of all aspects of the industry should be a priority before any decision-making, Greg also serves as a member of the Co-Chair for the Builders Guild of Western Pennsylvania, as well as Pittsburgh Works Together; as the Vice President of the Allegheny County Labor Council; as a Vice President of the Pennsylvania State Building and Construction Trades Council; and serves as a Board Member on Variety, the Children’s Charity.
Jason Markovich has been a proud member of Construction General Laborers’ Local 373 since June 30, 2000, and has proudly served his union, the building trades and the community in various capacities throughout his career.

Tom began his career as a Local 5 Apprentice in 1999. After advancing to Journeyman Wireman/Technician in 2004 Tom worked his way up to foreman, Commercial Project Manager, and Service Department Manager. Tom has worked diligently as a Business Agent for I.B.E.W. Local 5 since 2021 and was entrusted to be Pittsburgh Building Trades Secretary / Treasurer in June of 2024.
Tom grew up with hard-working, blue-collar parents that taught him the value of dedication and hard work. Tom’s greatest challenge and accomplishment was raising his three children as a single parent and helping them grow into independent, thriving adults.
Tom enjoys volunteering as a recreation league basketball coach, helping on local community clean ups, working with the I.B.E.W. Local 5 Float Committee, and helping young individuals explore their potential in the trade unions with The Boy Scouts of America Explorers Post 5.
Tom currently resides in Pittsburgh and takes pride in working hard every day for his Union Brothers and Sisters.
